The Judicial Police of Setubal are investigating an explosion at a restaurant in Sines, Setubal district, on Friday, which injured two people, a police source told Lusa this Saturday.
“We are trying to find out what happened,” a source in the Setúbal judicial police said.
A source from the Alentejo Subregional Emergency and Civil Protection Command told Lusa that a gas leak led to an explosion in a restaurant located in the light industrial zone 2 in Sines, leaving two people injured, one seriously and one slightly.
The victims were two Nepalese men, aged 25 and 28, who suffered burns and were taken to the Hospital Litoral Alentejuno (HLA) in Santiago do Cacem, he added.
According to the sub-regional command, the alarm was declared at 16:04 on Friday.
Firefighters from Sines, the National Institute of Emergency Medicine and the GNR were mobilized to the scene, supported by six vehicles, including the HLA Ambulance and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER).
