“As the President of the Republic has repeatedly stated, he does not comment on statements of political parties and newspaper reports,” says an official statement on the website of the President of the Republic.
Andre Ventura told Marcelo Rebelo de Souza that the head of state prefers not to allow Chega into the new government. “The President completely denied this. This information was relevant for us,” President Chegi emphasized this Monday.
The president’s words were: “This doesn’t make any sense. These are the people who choose.”
