Infarmed has authorized the use of Colircusi Gentadexa for the topical treatment of eye and ear infections with labeling in Spanish due to a shortage of supplies, the drug administration said.
In an announcement published on the website, the National Directorate of Medicines and Health Products (Infarmed) reports that Colircusi Gentadexa is out of stock, recalling that the authorization to use the labeling in Spanish is exclusive.
In the note, Infarmed also indicates that an information leaflet in Portuguese will be included with the medicine’s packaging.
Colircusi Gentadex is used in ophthalmology for the local treatment of ocular surface infections with inflammation caused by microorganisms sensitive to gentamicin, bacterial infections and inflammation of the eyelids and/or conjunctiva and cornea.
It is also used in the topical treatment of bacterial infections of the external auditory canal, such as otitis externa and other inflammatory conditions.
