As part of Operation Easter 2024, the GNR military conducted several “intensive inspection and patrol” operations on the country’s roads from 00:00 to 23:59 on Thursday to ensure that drivers “arrived safely at their destination.”
According to the data, 4,910 drivers were tested, of which 25 were driving while intoxicated, of which 10 were arrested for driving with a blood alcohol level equal to or greater than 1.2 g/l.
According to the National Guard of the Republic, six people were also arrested for driving without a license.
Of the 855 identified violations of traffic rules, the State Police allocates 128 for speeding, 148 for lack of mandatory periodic technical inspection, 31 for malfunctions in lighting and alarm systems, 36 for improper use of a mobile phone while driving.
It is also noted that 21 administrative offenses occurred due to the absence or improper use of a seat belt or car seat, and 44 due to the lack of compulsory civil liability insurance.
The GNR advises “drive carefully, carefully and safely to ensure the festive period can be enjoyed safely”.
