“Compulsory military service is worth exploring,” says Andre Ventura

André Ventura said this Monday that compulsory military service is a topic that “deserves study” together with “the youth” and “the military themselves.”

The Chegi leader stressed that young people must take into account that the world is now going through a different situation and that “the country cannot survive without a strong military force.”

“For young Portuguese, the ideal would be for it not to be compulsory. But there must be enthusiastic volunteers,” he added.

Ventura recalled the police strikes and protests and said that the appointment of Margarida Blasco as Minister of Internal Administration “is a bad sign for the security forces” since “the minister is known to have caused unrest among the police.”

“A few minutes ago, Chega filed a bill to make the PJ mission fully equal to all police forces,” he said.

As a result, President Chega twice turned to Luis Montenegro, who “endorses the bill on the equalization of surcharges proposed by Chega and rethinks the choice of the Minister of the Interior.

“This is advice from those who want to see the right triumph,” he concluded.
