The Portuguese Confederation of Tourism (CTP), in a statement this Friday, welcomed the fact that tourism again has a state secretariat and considered that Pedro Machado “is an excellent choice” to lead the department.
In a statement on Friday, the CTP expressed satisfaction that tourism once again “has an exclusive secretariat of state within the XXIV government, which ceased to exist under the previous leader.”
CTP President Francisco Callheiros believed that new Secretary of State Pedro Machado was an “excellent choice” due to his professional experience.
“Pedro Machado will certainly perform his duties well as he has deep knowledge of tourism, its problems and challenges thanks to the positions he has held in the sector, so he will certainly pay maximum attention to tourism and various strategic issues. themes that underlie it,” said Francisco Callheiros.
Pedro Machado led Turismo do Centro for 16 years, leaving mid-last year. He holds a Master’s degree in Education and a degree in Philosophy, having been President of ARPT – Regional Agency for External Tourism Promotion of Central Portugal and Regional Tourism Agency of Central Portugal.
The President of the Republic accepted on Thursday the list of 41 secretaries of state proposed by Prime Minister Luis Montenegro for the XXIV Government.
The inauguration of the secretaries of state is scheduled for this Friday at 18:00 at the National Palace da Ajuda in Lisbon.
The Prime Minister and 17 ministers of the XXIV Constitutional Government took office on Tuesday.
