Two people are dead and two are missing after a pleasure boat sank this morning in Troy. The fifth crew member was rescued alive. This is the ship’s helmsman, a 62-year-old man.
Members of the Setúbal Marine Police Local Command discovered and recovered the child’s body.
The body of one of the three missing adults was recovered by a Portuguese Air Force aircraft and returned by a maritime police vessel.
According to the National Maritime Administration, the ship was carrying a man about 45 years old, his 13-year-old son and two young men, 21 and 23 years old.
It was supposed to sink at 7:00 am, but the alarm reached authorities around 10:00 am.
The search for the two people, who are still missing, is being coordinated by the port captain and the local head of the Sesimbra Marine Police, while the Setúbal Local Marine Police Command vessel and the station vessel are involved by sea.
