Over 200 vehicles inspected in ASAE inspections nationwide.

The Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE) inspected 250 vehicles and filed five administrative offense cases between Wednesday evening and 8am Thursday as part of an inspection operation across the country.

Speaking to Lusa, ASAE Inspector General Luis Lourenço, who monitors the operation of the April 25 bridge in the Lisbon district, said that until 8:00 am, 250 vehicles were inspected.

“Until this hour [08h00] 250 operators have already been inspected and five violations related to administrative offenses have been identified, which are related to the lack of control over the temperature of food transportation and lack of hygiene,” the GAAE Inspector General told Lusa.

According to Luis Lourenço, there were no seizures because the situations identified were corrected and conditions were ensured down to the retail level.

The ASAE Inspector General noted that the inspection operation at the national level lasts 24 hours and ends today at 20:00 and aims to monitor and verify the conditions of hygiene and food safety (olive oil, meat, fish, bakery products, etc. ). ) in circulation.

“The transport check operation began yesterday. [quarta-feira] near land borders and will take place throughout the day today. It has 160 ASAE inspectors assisted by security forces, GNR and PSP and is being conducted in all districts,” he said.

According to Luis Lourenço, the operation is carried out in 50 parts of the country and also aims to identify possible illegal activities related to goods in transit, with direct consequences for the final consumer.
