Seven tourists and two pilots are missing after a private jet crashed in a swamp in Thailand on Thursday, the agency said. Daily mailThe group travelled on a Cessna 208B Grand-Caravan, which departed from Bangkok Airport and headed to Trat Province.
The alarm was raised at around 3:30 p.m. local time after residents in Chachoengsao province heard an explosion.
“There were explosions in the air. There was a loud noise before the plane crashed and then the plane hit the ground. After that, I ran to check the scene. Parts of the plane were scattered everywhere, including near my house,” said Ang Trasawat, 69, a resident.
Thai police have already launched a search. The wreckage of the plane is lying at the scene. According to Bangkok PostWomen’s clothing and a photograph of three women were found.
Authorities believe the victims may have been a European family.
