Apple left a note on its official page with instructions to help users who may have been victims of the attack and explaining the purpose of cyberattack notifications.
“These Mercenary attacks are much more complex than typical cybercriminal activity and consumer malware,” the brand explained, highlighting that mercenary spyware requires “exceptional resources” to access the devices of specific small groups.
“Spy mercenary attacks cost millions of dollars and often have a short duration, making them much more difficult to detect and prevent,” he added.
Apple also says it will contact all users who were victims of the attack using the email address and numbers associated with the ID.
