On Tuesday, a Coimbra court sentenced to 20 years in prison a man suspected of murder and throwing his body into a ditch with a stone tied to it, in Figueira da Foz. The attacker’s four children were also initially charged with the crime. but two were acquitted.
One of the sons was sentenced to 14 years and six months in prison for qualified murder and concealment of a corpse – charges identical to those of the father.
Another son, charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, will serve 480 hours for the benefit of the community.
The incident occurred last August when a body was found in the water in the Alqueidao area, tied to a rock weighing more than 20 kilograms.
According to CM It was then determined that the victim was involved in drug use. Disagreements over illegal practices provided the motive for the crime.
