This morning a truck burned down at the second roundabout in the direction of Benfica Airport.
The alarm was raised at 01:52 and 27 firefighters from Sapadores de Lisbon and PSP, supported by 7 vehicles, were called to the scene.
According to PSP, traffic in the area near the airport resumed at 8:20 a.m. in the left and center lanes after a break of more than six hours.
A PSP source told Lusa that the right lane occupied by the wreckage of the truck was still closed to traffic at 8:40 a.m.
Despite the huge apparatus, no injuries were reported.
The incident caused long queues on the roads.
