“When we removed the stone covering the grave, we immediately saw a body on the ground. There were bones, but there were also clothes,” says Thiago Grilo, a family member of the buried man. Carlos Gregorio, president of the parish council, says the body, which turns out to be a woman, must have been buried for decades. He admits that the gravedigger could have removed him from another grave and put him there to bury him again.
