The Union of Professional Police Officers (SPP/PSP) this Sunday confirmed that it will not tolerate any attempt to mislead citizens or discriminate against police officers, in response to a statement issued on Saturday by the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI).
“We consider it incomprehensible that the Ministry of Internal Affairs insists on its unwillingness to compensate for the risk of the police in accordance with the already existing (in the PD) amount and conditions of applicability, to compensate for the very same risk (ill health, difficulties and burden associated with the profession) associated with the activities of the police,” it says in a statement from the union structure representing agents, supervisors and officers.
We are talking about ongoing negotiations with the government, as a result of which the MAI guaranteed the falsehood of allegations that some specialists could lose income. According to the guardianship, as part of the proposal presented, “all security guards and police officers will have their salaries increased, guaranteeing at least 1,050 euros per year, and for some more.”
As for the union, the initial proposal presented by the government revealed a lack of understanding of reality, and the statement attempts to support what has been rejected by all union organizations: “An attempt to ‘make news’, promoting the shameful values that are being projected. as an annual increase inflating the numbers, it does not seem serious to us since police officers are paid monthly rather than annually and are only paid a net amount.”
“The attempt to convey to the public that the police will receive an increase of 75 euros does not correspond to what was presented to us, since this value corresponds solely to a protective clause applying only to those who would earn less with this government proposal (Imagine), proposal assessment at which you earn less and therefore claim a protection clause), the union said in a statement.
According to the organization, police officers receive a maximum of two or three “inexpensive” supplements, since many of them are incompatible with each other, and others are available only to a small part of the specialists.
“It is not true that the proposal now presented by the current government follows the same criteria rationale as the Mission Supplement (attributed to the JV) and this statement surprises us even more since any comparison beyond the 15% IR 115 applied to PJ criminal investigation officers, does not make any sense and is an insult to the PSP police,” defended SPP/PSP.
The PSP and GNR Platform of Alliances and Associations considered the proposal for a new addition to the mission to be “unacceptable and unfortunate”, promising to submit a counter-proposal.
