The Fatima Volunteer Firemen’s Humanitarian Association wants to build a new multi-use facility on land it has now given up for the first Saudade festival organized by Medialivre, in collaboration with Música no Coração. Tony Carreira, Mikael Carreira, Germán José, Marisa, Padre Borg and Joana Amendoeira are the main guests of the event, which will take place on August 15 and 16.
The heliport was opened last year by Pope Francis, but association president Amorim Goncalves said the land should soon welcome other solutions “to serve the local population and the thousands of people who visit it every year.”
“The new structure will unite five facilities: new barracks, a building to house a field hospital, a training site, a parking lot and a helipad,” said Amorim Gonsalves.
