The search for a 38-year-old fisherman who disappeared on Saturday off the coast of Sines, Setúbal, was suspended this Sunday at 5:40 p.m., a Maritime Police source told Lusa.
Searches on land and sea to find the fisherman who was spearfishing will resume on Monday at around 07:30, according to Sines Marine Police Commander Luis Filipe Duarte.
“On Monday, we will continue the search with the same device and extend it to the northern part of the beach. We also used a NCIS drone today to try and find the fisherman,” he added.
A source from the Alentejo Litoral Sub-Regional Office of Emergency and Civil Defense said the warning about the disappearance of the fisherman was issued on Saturday at 22:00.
This Sunday, three forensic divers, members of the Instituto de Socorros a Náufragos, the maritime police, assisted by jet skis, two boats, two land vehicles, and the air force of the Air Force were involved in the rescue operations.
