Seven people were arrested in the PSP’s anti-drug operation, which has been going on for about two years and was carried out this Sunday in Coimbra and Figueira da Foz.
This is a PSP investigation that received the support of the PNP to execute more than a dozen search and arrest warrants in and outside the country, which were carried out in two social neighborhoods in Figueira da Foz and Coimbra.
According to a note from the Coimbra PSP command, this operation “was based on the fight against drug trafficking, the target audience of which was the young student population, close to educational institutions, as well as in nightlife areas such as Bairro Novo. “.
During the investigations, almost ten thousand euros in cash and 1,160 euros in counterfeit banknotes were confiscated.
Approximately 1,500 doses of various drugs such as hashish, ecstasy, cannabis and ripening plants, as well as various materials associated with the preparation and sale of drugs, such as precision and digital scales and cannabis grinding mills.
Among the materials recovered from the suspects were several firearms, including shotguns and pistols, some of which were loaded, as well as various ammunition of varying calibers.
Also seized were 15 cell phones “and various utensils associated with illegal trafficking,” including four precision scales, two digital scales and five cannabis grinders.
The operation, which, according to a press release, “took place without disturbing public order,” involved, according to a police source, more than 80 operatives from the PSP command of Coimbra, Aveiro and Leiria, as well as military personnel from different parts of the country. GNR.
The operation culminated in the arrest of seven men, aged between 19 and 41, who will be referred to the criminal judge of the Coimbra court for enforcement action.
