Police are unhappy with the minister’s proposal

The second round of negotiations between the Minister of Internal Administration (MAI) Margarida Blasco and the GNR and PSP associations and unions on the allocation of a mission supplement, which the police want to equal to the PJ supplement (1026 euros/month), ended without an agreement. The net increase is from 150 to just over 200 euros, if the amount required is at least equal to the amount allocated by PJ (548 euros net).

On May 2, Margarida Blasco offered between €365.13 and €625.94 for the three PSP and GNR categories, with the platform offering a minimum gross value of €905.24. “The minister said there are no budgetary provisions,” explained Cesar Nogueira, president of APG/GNR. MAI proposed a gross cost of between 521 and 730 euros per month, excluding the security forces allowance, of which the fixed part is 100 euros. “Without taking into account this amount and the variable of 20% of the base salary we receive, the increase is between 150 and just over 200 euros. A safety clause of 150 euros is also being created if the increase is negative,” said Ricardo Rodriguez of the GNR Sergeants Association. Margarida Blasco scheduled the next meeting (from June 3 to May 22). “The platform will unite. If there is no parity in the bonuses, which will be paid gradually, we will accept protests,” said Ricardo Rodrigues.
