Yemen’s Houthis said they launched an attack towards the Mediterranean Sea

Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels assured this Thursday that they carried out an attack in the Mediterranean this week, in what could be the Shiite movement’s first action in that sea, their leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said.

“During this week, there were eight operations using 15 missiles and drones aimed at the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea, and one towards the Mediterranean Sea,” al-Houthi said in a televised statement, without giving further details. details or clarification of the purpose of the attack in the Mediterranean.

Since November 19, the Houthis have launched attacks towards the Red Sea, supporting Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and causing economic damage to Israel, causing severe disruption to global maritime trade and justifying military intervention in Yemen by the US and UK. .
