The co-ordinator of the Domestic Violence Homicide Retrospective Review Team said Monday that a child who lived in an abusive environment for years that ended with his father killing his mother in 2019 should have been heard.
This is the latest case analyzed by this team, in which it was clear that, despite several indicators, the PCJC had little and very limited intervention in the case.
“The school also should have signaled the situation. Because in this particular case, the PSP gave three signals: it signaled the CPCJ, the school and the health authorities,” said Raquel Desterro during the conference in Porto.
“Unfortunately, I must say, the authorities in various circles did not properly take into account the signals that this family gave,” he added.
