The radical right seeks to change the majority in the European Parliament

The European radical right, divided into different groups in the European Parliament, recently met in Madrid with calls for cooperation and the creation of a “common front” to end the “unnatural majority” formed by socialists, popular (traditional right) and liberals.

At a meeting in Madrid on May 19, organized by Vox, the Spanish far-right party led by Santiago Abascal, names were mentioned such as the Portuguese Andre Ventura (Chega), the French Marine Le Pen (National Union), the Italian Giorgia Meloni (Brothers) . Italy), Hungarian Viktor Orbán (Fidesz) or Pole Mateusz Morwiecki (Pis).

All are parties considered to be radical right, far right or conservative nationalists, and their messages are often described by opponents and academics as xenophobic and anti-European, focusing, among other things, on immigration and border controls.
