Here are some of the new offerings at this year’s Primavera Sound festival, which starts on Thursday at the Parque da Cidade in Porto and ends on Saturday. This year, as the organization’s managing director José Barreiro told it, “the total investment amounted to 10 million euros between collections and production,” it involves almost 50 artists, divided into four stages.
At the start of the festival on Thursday, highlights will go straight to SZA and PJ Harvey, Friday to Justice and Lana Del Rey, and on Saturday, the final day, to Pulp and The National.
Returning to a three-day format (there were four in 2023), the event expects to host “more than 100 thousand people and again break all records,” says José Barreiro. “This is proof that this festival, unlike others in Europe, continues to grow every year.”
