This Thursday morning, the trial of two defendants accused of attempting to kill with a firearm a woman and her son in Espinho began in Feira’s court. Before the panel of judges, the suspects justified their confrontation with the victims on passionate grounds caused by the previous romantic relationship of one of them.
According to a public indictment from the prosecutor’s office, the two defendants, aged 25 and 31, are also suspected of stealing a necklace in addition to shooting a woman last March in the Ponte de Anta area of Espinho. made of base yellow metal – to the son of the victim. One of the accused allegedly fired a shot in the air and his accomplice stole two necklaces made of base yellow metal that he was wearing around his neck. It was at this moment that the woman attacked the defendant with a broom. The two men fled and eventually opened fire on the two victims. The woman was wounded in one leg.
The two defendants are charged with two felonies of attempted aggravated murder and two felonies of aggravated menacing. One of the men is also responsible for robbery and the other is responsible for two offenses of possessing a prohibited weapon.
At the time of the incident, one of the accused was on the run from the authorities for breaching an undertaking to remain in his home, which he was subject to as part of proceedings in which he was charged with four offences: aggravated robbery and three offenses of assault.
