Prime Minister Luis Montenegro welcomed on Sunday that the mobility vote had worked well but suggested it was a “risky and difficult” operation, thanking the previous government and former PS minister José Luis Carneiro.
The PSD leader began his final statement on the night before the European elections, which the AD lost to the PS, by greeting the Portuguese people and acknowledging “the good work of the entire structure that contributed to the mobility of the vote.”
For the first time, it was possible to vote at any polling station, regardless of the place of registration.
“Now I can share with you that last Monday I myself went to the operations center at night to find out the results of the test conducted on June 1, the results of which, at least, could have been confiscated,” he said.
Montenegro said that despite this, the government concluded that “the work done over the past year is worth believing in,” thanking in particular the interior minister and the infrastructure minister who “gave everything they had.”
“I would also like to congratulate the previous government and, in particular, the former Minister of the Interior, José Luis Carneiro,” he said, noting that since the elections were scheduled for June 9, the former PS leadership candidate has started work. preparatory procedures “with the involvement of opposition parties.”
