Traffic on the Estrada Nacional 371 (EN371), between Arronches and Campo Mayor (Portalegre), was reopened in both directions at 22:40 after being closed for almost 30 hours due to a truck crash, a GNR source said.
The same source told Lusa that the EN 371 road was closed in the municipality of Arronches at around 17:00 on Wednesday after a truck was involved in an accident, causing minor injuries.
A source from the Alto Alentejo subregional command for emergencies and civil protection explained that the accident in this area cut the road, with two cranes on site to try to “straighten” the heavy machine, but the equipment “could not support” the weight » car.
On Thursday afternoon, Lusa contacted a source from the Portalegre territorial command, who reported that another crane was on site, the third to be mobilized, and was carrying out operations to dismantle the vehicle.
According to the National Republican Guard (NRG), the 40-ton truck was transporting empty glass bottles.
