A 44-year-old motorcyclist from Vila do Conde died yesterday morning in a violent accident on the EN125 highway at the exit from Olhão to Tavira.
The fatal victim, Ruben Pinheiro, was out with a group of biker friends, as he usually was on Sundays, when he crashed. This has been confirmed CM the widow of the victim, who accompanied him and arrived at the scene of the incident. The fact that she did not go with her husband that Sunday may have saved her life. A 27-year-old man who was at the scene and caught by a motorcycle was also injured as a result of the accident. The wounded man was taken to the Faro hospital, and Ruben’s body was taken to the Faro medico-legal office. There were 17 operatives and eight vehicles from the fire service, INEM, the road concessionaire and GNR, which is investigating the incident, at the scene.
