The Futsal Solidarity Tournament, organized by Associação Desportiva de Arvore – Forças Segurança Unidas and Grupo Desportivo de Arvore, raised 3,234 euros on Sunday. The money is intended to help Ricardo Ferreira, a 45-year-old man who was involved in a swimming pool accident in September 2021 and became paralyzed.
“To our champion, may we celebrate the victory of his recovery as soon as possible. We want his smile to be present every day,” the sports association said in a note summarizing the results of the tournament, which was attended by 10 teams. Municipal Pavilion of Canidelo in Vila do Conde.
After the accident, the life of Ricardo Ferreira and his family changed. Several intensive therapies were carried out to improve the quality of life. Funds raised at the solidarity tournament will go towards covering treatment costs.
Over the past few years, the Association Desportiva de Arvore – Forças Segurança Unidas has implemented several solidarity initiatives. It combines elements of security forces, fire brigades and private security.
