Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, travelled to Porto on Thursday to meet Porto officials and discuss the details of the transfer of Senegalese centre-back Micky Faye.
Barcelona are asking 15 million euros for the 19-year-old, but Porto are only willing to pay 5 million for part of the transfer.
With 41-year-old Portugal international Pepe leaving Porto, the Dragons are looking for alternatives in defence. This is where the young Senegalese comes in and could partner Otavio (who signed in January from Famalicao), Fabio Cardoso or Ze Pedro.
What is certain is that David Carmo, the centre-back for whom Porto paid Braga €20 million, remains on the market. He was loaned to Olympiacos, who even showed interest in signing the Angola international, but the Dragons demand 15 million euros. At the moment, the offer is 12 million euros plus 3 million euros for the target. Deco will be able to use the meeting to learn about the terms of signing Pepe, a player pursued by Barcelona.
