The Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon clarified this Friday that the Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins, “complied with the proposed program” in the academic report she developed and there was no plagiarism.
A note sent to Lusa, signed by the president of the Faculty’s Academic Council, António Almeida, and the director of the institution, Beatriz Lima, states that “the report on the activities carried out was subject to analysis by the Scientific Committee. The Council assessed the various aspects of the report and concluded that the work presented was in line with the proposed program.”
“It is impossible to draw any other conclusions, especially regarding the alleged plagiarism, which did not occur,” the teachers emphasize.
The college’s clarification comes after Friday’s edition of the Público newspaper reported that the health minister had copied excerpts from an English university course for a report she was to present at the end of 2023.
The newspaper claims that “irregularities” have been identified at the Lisbon Faculty of Pharmacy, but the school never mentions them in the note sent to Luce.
“The Academic Council reiterates its position that the report was approved correctly,” the faculty summarized in a letter sent at the end of the day.
The institution also adds that Ana Paula Martins, associate professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Lisbon, was on a sabbatical leave granted by this faculty between December 2020 and December 2021, during which she developed several activities. academic activities in accordance with the proposed program of work.”
Today, after the minister was in parliament answering a question from the Left Bloc about the emergency medical care program, journalists questioned him about this, but he refused to comment.
