The INEM president submitted his resignation from his post this Monday, which was accepted by the health minister a day after an exchange of accusations over competition for air transport services for patients, a source in the ministry said.
Health Minister Ana Paula Martins received Luís Meira today after the Health Ministry criticized the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM) on Sunday for allowing the deadline for the launch of the international public call to expire, forcing a new direct landing.
The Health Ministry announced earlier this month that it was conducting an administrative and financial audit of INEM, and at the latest parliamentary hearing, the minister explained that she intended to “understand precisely” several processes, namely the hiring of helicopters and ambulances and the direct adjustments at the institute.
