A road collision between a car and another truck left serious injuries on Monday and the IC2 road was closed in both directions in Alenquer, the local fire chief said.
Daniel Ribeiro told Lusa that the accident occurred at 2:50 p.m. near the town of Mares, in the parish of Abrigada y Cabanas de Torres, and that a 61-year-old woman who was riding in the passenger vehicle was seriously injured.
The victim was transported by ambulance and intensive care (VMER) from Torres Vedras to the emergency department of the Vila Franca de Xira Hospital.
Due to the accident, IC2 was closed in both directions.
In addition to Torres Vedras VMER, there were 20 emergency personnel and seven vehicles on scene, including three ambulances and two recovery vehicles for the Alenquer and Alcoentre firefighters.
