The accident happened around 4 a.m. The victims received minor injuries and were taken to different hospitals.
Two were taken to Barreiro Hospital, two to Garcia de Orta Hospital and two to Santa Maria Hospital. There is another victim who was treated only at the scene.
Traffic was completely blocked for more than two hours.
The spectacular accident resulted in the mobilization of dozens of responders, including the Seixal firefighters, the Amor firefighters, the Garcia de Orta ambulance and intensive care unit, the Almada ambulance and intensive care unit, and the GNR.
