Two young Galician owls were rescued on Monday in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira after they were found in the Asparagus Primary School.
Following the alert, staff from the Nature and Environment Protection Service (SEPNA) went to the site and found the birds “on benches made from wooden rolls,” the GNR said in a statement.
The birds were collected and transported to the Gaia Biological Park.
“Galician owl (Athena Noctua) This a species of strigoid bird belonging to the family Strigidae.
