The Judicial Police have arrested, without counting the crime, the man who killed 48-year-old Sonia Marisa in a shop in the city of Porto late on Monday evening.
The suspect, the victim’s boyfriend and partner, was reportedly motivated by jealousy. According to the SP, the arrested man controlled the victim’s movements until he surprised her at work.
He allegedly planned the crime in advance and fired two shots from a shotgun, fatally wounding the woman.
The woman running the store suffered cardiopulmonary arrest and died at the scene. The man escaped but later turned himself in at the GNR station in Estarreja.
The 51-year-old man will undergo his first court hearing for the purpose of using coercive measures.
