Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis signed a bilateral security agreement in Washington on Thursday that aims to strengthen Ukraine’s ability to defend against a Russian invasion.
The document, signed by the heads of the two states on the sidelines of the NATO summit in the North American capital, systematizes the existing cooperation between Romania and Ukraine in various fields and at the same time establishes a political basis for continuing cooperation, the Romanian agency Agerpres emphasizes.
The document stipulates that the two neighboring countries seek to strengthen cooperation in the areas of politics, defense, security, trade, economics, as well as science and culture.
