A 40-year-old woman claims she was raped by three men after getting into a TVDE vehicle in Amador early Thursday morning. The outline of the case is unclear, but authorities suspect the victim and driver may have known each other and had a relationship.
The woman says she asked to be driven home and got into a TVDE car. Halfway there, the driver said he was going to pick up two friends, and the woman says she didn’t suspect anything. But then, instead of heading to the right address, he took a detour and stopped the car on Avenida das Palmeiras, a deserted area on the outskirts of Casal de São Brás. It was there, she says, that the sexual assault took place, with three men raping her.
She also said that she could not resist because she feared for her life and that she was left there without her mobile phone, which had been taken by the group.
It was around 2:30 a.m. and the woman had no choice but to walk home to Moinhos da Funcheira, a journey of almost 1.5 kilometers. Only then did he call the PSP.
She was then taken to the Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon, where she received treatment and underwent a medical-legal examination. The case is currently being investigated by the Judicial Police, but the victim has not filed a formal complaint.
