To stop the steady decline in honey production in the country over the past five years, the government has issued a diploma to support beekeepers.
The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries announced on Friday at the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture and Fisheries that the ministry had already received 300 applications. However, given the crisis in the industry and the number of beekeepers affected, the number of candidates is lower than expected.
As part of the Common Agricultural Policy strategic plan, the government has defined a support scheme for natural pollination of plants, which can reach three thousand euros if a beekeeper has 500 hives. For those with 10 to 25 hives, the support is 125 euros, from 50 to 150 – 625 euros, and up to 250 – 1324 euros.
