The MotoGP Kazakhstan Grand Prix has been cancelled and will be replaced by the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Misano, world championship promoter Dorna said on Monday.
“TO [Federação Internacional de Motociclismo]IRTA [Associação de Equipas] and Dorna Sports [promotor do campeonato] I announce the cancellation of the Kazakhstan Grand Prix. Logistical and operational issues caused by the flooding that hit the region several months ago have made it impossible to hold the race in 2024,” the press release said.
The Kazakhstan Grand Prix was supposed to be the 14th of 20 planned rounds and was previously postponed for the same reason.
According to information provided by Dorna, it will be replaced by the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at the Misano circuit (San Marino) from September 20 to 22.
The 13th stage of the San Marino Grand Prix will be held on the same track from the 6th to the 8th of the same month.
