CaverSTIM, also called “electronic Viagra,” is an alternative to conventional medications and promises to help all men suffering from erectile dysfunction, the persistent inability to achieve or maintain an erection of the penis.
CaverSTIM is indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction caused by mechanical injuries to nerves, such as spinal cord injuries and in patients following prostatectomy.
Consisting of a pulse generator, CaverSTIM contains a rechargeable battery and electronic components to generate an electrical stimulation signal, implanted in the pelvic cavity to activate and restore the nerves responsible for penile erection.

The first implantation of a high-tech battery-powered device to restore erectile function took place at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH).
