‘Electronic Viagra’ Could Be the Solution to Erectile Dysfunction. Find Out How It Works

To combat one of the top male problems in the Hour of the Hour, a technology company has decided to create an innovative device. CaverSTIM, also called “electronic Viagra,” is an alternative to conventional medications and promises to help all men suffering from erectile dysfunction, the persistent inability to achieve or maintain an erection of the penis.

CaverSTIM is indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction caused by mechanical injuries to nerves, such as spinal cord injuries and in patients following prostatectomy.

Consisting of a pulse generator, CaverSTIM contains a rechargeable battery and electronic components to generate an electrical stimulation signal, implanted in the pelvic cavity to activate and restore the nerves responsible for penile erection.

According to Comphya, about 30% of patients with erectile dysfunction do not respond to oral medications on the market. CaverSTIM was developed to provide a painless, safe, simple, comfortable and effective alternative for all patients who do not respond to traditional treatments.

The first implantation of a high-tech battery-powered device to restore erectile function took place at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH). Phil Dundee, consultant urologist at RMH and clinical director of the Australian Prostate Centre (APC), carried out the successful operation on August 3 last year.

“It’s really exciting to be part of this kind of innovation, especially when we know this treatment has the potential to change the lives of millions of patients around the world,” he said.
