On the safety front, the mayor recalls that the most serious accidents in recent years have occurred outside the facility, and calls on motorcyclists to “not let themselves be carried away” by the “spirit of speed.”
The rescue service, centralized in the Faro hospital, includes 42 doctors and about 100 nurses, ambulance crews and Red Cross rescuers. José Amaro, the historical leader of the Moto Clube de Faro since 1982, announced that he will take up his post in November.
