Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and former US President Donald Trump spoke on the phone and discussed the future of US support for the eastern country..
According to Reuters, Donald Trump said in a post on Truth Social that he had a “very good conversation” with Volodymyr Zelensky and said he would end the war in Ukraine if he won the November 5 election.
“I spoke with Donald Trump to congratulate him on his Republican nomination and to condemn the shocking assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. I wished him absolute strength and safety in the future. I acknowledged America’s vital bipartisan support to protect our nation’s freedom and independence,” Zelensky said on X (formerly Twitter).
“Ukraine will always be grateful to the United States for helping us strengthen our ability to resist Russian terror. Russia’s attacks on our cities and villages continue every day. We agreed with Trump to discuss in a personal meeting what measures can make a truly lasting peace fair and just,” he added.
