Economic and Social Council President Luis Pais Antunes says it is “normal” to have an approved budget, believing that this will happen, and stresses that the country has nothing to gain from repeating elections until exhaustion.
In an interview with Lusa news agency, Luis Pais Antunes said he “expected” the government’s budget proposal to be approved by parliament, believing the result would be “useful for the country.”
Asked about the possibility that this will not be the result and that the first proposal of the budget law of the government led by Luis Montenegro will not be able to gather the necessary number of votes needed for its approval, the new CES president de-dramatizes it.
