This Sunday, three foreign bathers were rescued from a cliff about 40 meters high in the middle of the sea, opposite Caneiros beach in Lagoa.
One of them, 31, climbed to the top of the cliff and even had to be removed from the scene by an Air Force helicopter in an operation coordinated by the Portimao Harbour Master Commander.
The other two managed to get off and swim to the beach using a jet ski provided by the Institute for Victim Assistance.
The victims were not hurt, but were assisted on the beach by the Lagoa Fire Service team.
The NCIS has claimed responsibility for the incident, which could have had more serious consequences if the decision had not been made to involve the Air Force.
