The government will pay the updated supplement to the risk subsidy to the security forces, retroactive to July, “in the next few days,” the Ministry of the Interior (MAI) said in a statement to the Lusa news agency on Saturday.
“The payment that will be processed covers the amounts for July and August, which this year will be increased to a value of 300 euros per month, and next year the value will increase to 350 euros and, from 2026, it will rise to 400 euros,” the guardianship indicates in the same note.
MAI emphasizes that the extraordinary payment of GNR and PSP risk subsidies contributes to increasing the dignity of the career and is a step taken to correct a “historical error.”
“The government confirms that this process of dignified career, professional and remunerated assessment of women and men serving in the security forces, which is included in the government program, is another step towards correcting the historical error inherited from the past,” the guardianship emphasized.
An agreement between the Ministry of the Interior (MAI) and five PSP unions and GNR associations to gradually increase the supplement by 300 euros was reached on 9 July.
In addition to the €300 increase, the increase in the fixed option of the fixed bonus from the current €100 to €400, the signed agreement also provides for the start of negotiations, in January, to review the professional status, changes to the remuneration table and evaluation procedure, a review of the salary tables and a green path in health care.
The €300 increase will be paid in three installments: €200 this year and the remainder at the start of 2025 and 2026, with increases of €50 each year, in addition to maintaining the variable component of 20% of the base salary.
The risk and security service supplement consists of a variable part of 20% of the base salary and a fixed part that will increase from 100 euros to 400 euros. The diploma was made public by the President of the Republic on Thursday.
