Passengers at Brussels Airport were surprised by the warning of an explosion this Sunday, around midnight (23:00 in Portugal). During the investigation, authorities did not allow passengers to board or arriving flights to disembark.
According to SunPeople at a German airport have been asked to “stay put” after authorities suspected a bomb attack.
One airport official explained that there were “many agents with automatic weapons” present because there was talk “of explosives.” Therefore, it became necessary to “evacuate some areas.”
The bomb was believed to have exploded in the departure and baggage claim areas.
During the investigation, passengers were unable to board the plane. However, passengers who arrived on flights were also unable to leave the plane.
At 2am (1am in Portugal), spokesman Ishane Chiua Lehli confirmed the opening of the airport as “the controls were found to be negative”.
