The Guimarães Court has ordered the preventive detention of three suspects detained by the Braga Judicial Police as part of Operation Crystal Laboratory, which resulted in the dismantling of a cocaine laboratory in Santa Maria da Feira.
The three detainees, one of whom is Portuguese, will await trial in pre-trial detention in Braga prison.
The detainees are between 54 and 59 years old. Two of them have convictions for drug trafficking.
The group’s leader, a 54-year-old Argentine, lived a life of luxury on the proceeds of his lab, and his family made no secret of their luxury. The Argentine pHe also paid for the house and all expenses of two operatives – a Portuguese and a Colombian.
Operation was carried out by the Braga Criminal Investigation Department, with the cooperation of the Northern Directorate, with the participation of experts from the delegation of the Scientific Police Laboratory and with the cooperation of the GNR.
