A 26-year-old man is in serious condition after being shot on Saturday in the city of Leiria, police and civil protection sources told Lusa.
The Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of the Leiria Region reported that the attack with a sharp weapon took place in the Rodrigues Lobo Square. Firefighters from Leiria Zapadores, the Public Security Police (PSP) and the National Institute of Emergency Medicine (INEM) were at the scene.
According to Firefighters Sapadores, the alarm was received by the corporation at 6:18 a.m. and the victim was taken to Santo André Hospital in Leiria.
A PSP source said the man had “around 15 perforations in his stomach and back” and the investigation had been referred to the judicial police.
