“523 carnival items (toys, clothes, etc.) were seized for non-compliance with legal and security requirements, the estimated value of which is 9,252 euros,” the ASAE said in a statement, citing the balance sheet of Operation Shrovetide. .

This inspection operation, associated with carnival, a festive season traditionally associated with the sale of costumes and accessories intended for entertainment purposes, was carried out “in the last few days” from the north to the south of the country. , regional divisions of ASAE .

The main purpose of Operação Entrudo was to verify compliance with general legislation on the safety of products placed on the market, the body said in a statement, noting that this verification ensures the protection of health and physical safety within the rights of consumers.

“As a balance sheet, 174 economic entities were inspected and 16 administrative cases were initiated, in which the predicate offenses were the failure to fulfill the obligations of distributors, the lack of CE marking, the non-compliance with the book of complaints, etc.” where inspections were carried out.
