“For about 10 years now, my IRS return has been filed from the same bank account. When the emergency aid came, it was said that the account to which it would be paid would be the same as the declaration, and therefore I am not worried. I received the amount and checked the account associated with my AT registration, which was empty. I made changes to the account, already known to AT. In circumstances where taxpayers only provide an IBAN to the IRS, this is what is taken into account when paying the €125 emergency support.
However, even if you find that your IBAN is incorrect, you must change it in order to receive 125 euros. The payment of emergency assistance can be made in two stages. The first phase is for taxpayers who have a correct and verified IBAN, while the second phase aims to respond to all Portuguese who have realized that they need to update their IBAN in the Finance Portal.
