The Portuguese are suspicious of the quality of the state budget (GB) for 2023 and very pessimistic about the development of the national economy next year. The vast majority of respondents to the Intercampus survey for CM/CMTV does not believe that the budget approved by Parliament this week will be generally beneficial for the country.
Respondents even reveal a great lack of confidence in the budget. 45% believe that the Budget is not beneficial for the country, and only 18% think so. And it’s even worse when they are asked if they believe EO will be good for the economy of their love life. 74.2% say no.
Moreover, the pessimism of respondents leads 77.6% to think that their standard of living will worsen in 2023.

Universe The population of Portugal aged 18 years or over, registered for elections, residing on the Portuguese mainland. Sample Consists of 607 interviews with the following distribution: 292 men and 315 women; 127 people aged 18 to 34, 211 people aged 35 to 54, and 269 people aged 55 and over; 230 in the north, 143 in the center, 166 in Lisbon, 41 in the Alentejo and 27 in the Algarve.
Sample selection House selection was made by randomly generating landline/mobile phone numbers. At home, the selection of the respondent was carried out by the method of sex and age quota (3 groups). A matrix of quotas by region (NUTS II), sex and age has been prepared based on data from the Electoral Census of Portugal (12/31/2020) of the General Directorate of Internal Administration (DGAI)
